Benefits of Membership of Institute of Explosives EngineersFrom its inception in May 1974, the Institute has existed. to represent those companies and individuals who use explosives as part of the everyday tools of their trade. With time the Institute has grown, and so have the services it is able to offer. The quality of those services has also improved over the years. Training Courses, the Examination Syllabus, and the Quarterly Journal are all more sophisticated each year. As these improvements become apparent so the regard with which the Institute is viewed has risen accordingly, and the Institute is ever more able to speak for the Profession Through the Institute, members of all categories and from all disciplines have a live forum where demolition contractors, explosives manufacturers, underwater specialists, miners, tunnellers, quarrymen, disposal contractors, vibration specialists, oil industry contractors, special effects technicians (pyrotechnicians), firework display operators, Police Explosives Liaison Officers, Legislators and members of the Armed Services find a common voice to express concerns and ideas they feel in common and to understand better the requirements and concerns of those disciplines that are alien to them. There is an Education and. Research trust, a charity in its own right, that exists to promote the education and training of current, and most importantly, future explosive engineers. |
Carry Your Card! Particulate and vapour detectors are used to screen passengers and baggage
passing through UK ports and airports. They detect the minute traces of explosives
legitimately used by our members. The Institute has made the authorities
aware of our membership card. Up to date sample copies are used to make the
security staffs at ports and airports aware of our membership. A membership
card can be vital to the police and other authorities in quickly establishing
members' 'bona fides' as a result of a screening check. |
